Selma Nuri Harter Selma Nuri Harter passed on to the next realm on September 10, 2026.
Selma was born in Winchester, VA, on November 22, 1941, and lived in the Frederick County area her entire life. She worked for over 40 years at Lord Fairfax Community College in a few different roles, most recently in the Paul Wolk Library in Middletown, VA. She was an enthusiastic advisor for the PBL and enjoyed chaperoning the many trips, conventions, and competitions with the students.
Selma enjoyed being active in her personal life to include organizations such as The Red Hats, Business and Professional Women, James Wood High School Alumni, and staying in touch with the people she met along the way. She loved to travel with an affinity for the beach and cruising. She was always up for a road trip.
Selma was “mom” to thousands of students at LFCC as well as to any younger person who needed a hug or encouragement. She was especially fond of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
