San Francisco's St. Anthony Foundation Hosts Successful Back-to-School Supply Drive for 500 Students

San Francisco Students Prepare for School Year

As summer appears to be winding down in San Francisco, the city's students are preparing to head back to school in the coming weeks. The St. Anthony Foundation, a nonprofit based in the Tenderloin district, launched its tenth annual Back-to-School Drive on Thursday, offering backpacks, books, clothing, and other essentials to ensure students are ready for the new school year.

Rainforest-Themed Event Creates a Boutique-Like Shopping Experience

This year's event adopted a rainforest theme, reminiscent of the popular Rainforest Cafe from the 1990s, creating a boutique-like shopping experience. Families browsed organized clothing racks amid inflatable monkeys, palm trees, and ambient rainforest sounds. In addition to apparel, attendees could access kiosks with books, vitamins, and a family photo station.

Expanding Support for Local Students

According to Senior Manager Sam Brock, the event is serving approximately 500 K-12 students, an increase from the usual 400.
