After six years of sporadic singles and cameos, American singer-songwriter Phoebe Bridgers’ third studio album, “Lost Weekend,” is everything fans love about her work: thoughtfully produced, an ornately curated soundscape and a story told through raw lyrics full of emotion. The album ruminates on melancholy themes of grieving lost relationships, love, aging and being scared but excited by the changing world.
Many fans were nervous after Bridgers released “Lost Boys,” the first single on the album. Although the song is catchy, the lyrics are more vague and indecisive than her normal sound. With its mixed reception, “Lost Boys” did not leave fans with an enticing impression of Bridgers’ upcoming album.
