SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WOWK) – Fall is in the air in South Charleston, West Virginia, as the community came out Saturday to celebrate all things apple.
The South Charleston Farmer’s Market hosted an Apple Festival Saturday, offering food, fun and activities for all. Local vendors also set up shop at the event.
Attendees had the chance to sample apples, make their own caramel apples and watch a live apple butter-making demonstration. There were also plenty of activities for the kids to enjoy.
Organizers say the event is also a way to bring more people to the Farmers Market and support the vendors.
“It’s officially apple season here at the market, so what better way to celebrate that and have an Apple Festival for the community,” said Shawn Zuniga, marketing director. “Events like this, you really get to bring people out to have a great time, and everyone comes together. And while they’re doing that, they’re actually supporting our local farmers and vendors as well.”
