SPASH, Wausau West play to 2-2 draw

WAUSAU — The SPASH boys soccer team battled Wausau West to a 2-2 draw Tuesday night, moving the Panthers to 5-1-1 overall this season.

Leyton Stevens and Zachariah Zillman each scored for SPASH, with Liam Nimm and Sebastian Nelson recording assists.

Goalkeeper Fred Juliani made eight saves for the Panthers.

“We played well enough to win at times and then found ways to give away the lead twice,” SPASH coach Bill Loss said. “While frustrating, it is a good learning experience for our players and we will be better as a result.”

The tie moved SPASH to 2-0-1 in Wisconsin Valley Conference play.

The Panthers return home Thursday to host Appleton East at 7 p.m. at Goerke Park.
