SPOKANE, Wash. - Three Spokane Parks and Recreation projects moved closer to possible state funding that could support major upgrades across the city.
The city department submitted grant applications for Franklin Park youth ball field renovations, the Iron Bridge River Gateway and the Minnehaha Community Park redevelopment.
Those requests had the potential to bring in $4.5 million for the projects.
Each application ranked near the top in its category, which the Recreation and Conservation Office considered when deciding which proposals to support.
The board was set to vote on October 27. After that, the Washington State Legislature had to allocate funding in its budget for the next two years.
