The new store off 91st and Metcalf Avenue is not your run-of-the-mill home decor and antique store.
Step inside if you dare, and you’ll find items you might not find anywhere else; but only if you let your curiosity get the best of you. The sign above the entrance, after all, tells customers to expect “the unexpected.”
To the duo behind Spotdities, that’s the point.
“You might enter the store and have nothing in common with the person that’s in here with you, but you might like the same thing, and then you might start a conversation,” said Amanda Coney, manager at the shop. “We want people to walk in curious and leave obsessed.”
The new “curiosity emporium” opened inside the Glenwood Antique Mall at the beginning of September.
Spotdities opened at 9030 Metcalf Ave.
- The store occupies a space tucked inside the Glenwood Antique Mall in Overland Park.
- Previously, when the space as a whole was occupied by a TJ Maxx, Spotdities’ space was where the dressing rooms were.
- Spotdities’ regular hours are the same as the mall’s; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
