The individual, Michael Weitzel, recorded the incident as security personnel escorted him out. The viral footage shows Weitzel questioning the rationale behind his ejection, especially considering the Pride flags present elsewhere in the stadium.
Weitzel stated that he was approached about his MAGA hat shortly before being asked to leave. MLS's Fan Code of Conduct prohibits items used for campaigning or political advocacy, including signs, gestures, or language that could be deemed discriminatory or abusive.
