The Spring Creek Charter Academy Stallions varsity football team’s offense was stumped by the CrossPointe Christian Academy Cavaliers last Friday, marking the Stallions’ first shutout of the season.

Head Coach Alan Beckett said that the Cavaliers are “a benchmark” of what the Stallions want their program to be.

“[The Cavaliers] were a much more advanced program from a number of years played, facilities, staff, weight room and buy-in,” Beckett said in a press release.

Beckett thanked the Stallions, who played hard and gave their all despite the score and loss.

“Players like Conner Mclendon, Dylan Edwards, Elijah Bell, Gabe Gilbert, Andrew Brakefield, Wyatt Mason and a couple more,” he said. “Effort is how you turn programs around.”

With their next game against the Baker County Bears Friday at 7 p.m., Beckett said the Stallions must contain the Bears’ quarterback Taylor Sanders and wide receiver Adin Williams.
