JOHNSTON — Strom Thurmond running back Kaden Wigfall is always smiling.
Whether it’s during game days, practice sessions or in the school hallways, he represents the Rebels with a positive approach to everything. Recently, that’s been translating to his results on the field with several standout performances this season for the undefeated program.
“(He) just has a lot of fun playing football,” said head coach Andrew Webb. “He has a lot of fun being around his teammates, and he has a lot of pride in being a Strom Thurmond Rebel. He's always smiling, always having a good time, loves competing and we're thankful to have him.”
In their most recent 33-20 victory over Lincoln County, Wigfall logged four touchdowns, three rushing and one on a 64-yard pick-six. On the ground, he had 80 yards for the night on eight carries and another 11 receiving yards.
This was his second week in a row putting four touchdowns on the board for Strom Thurmond after single-handedly scoring 28 points against Batesburg-Leesville in Week 5. That night, all four scores were on offense, with 94 rushing yards on 14 carries in the 58-6 win.
