Students Enjoy 38th Annual Conservation Field Day

STUDENTS ENJOY 38TH ANNUAL CONSERVATION FIELD DAY – The Oswego County Soil and Water Conservation District welcomed approximately 320 fifth-grade students from across Oswego County to its annual Conservation Field Day on Sept. 17 at Selkirk Shores State Park in Pulaski. The event serves to educate students about the environment and help them develop an appreciation for the county’s natural resources. Students visited a range of stations offering presentations and activities. Pictured are students participating in a recycling activity hosted by Novelis.

LEARNING LASTING SKILLS – Representatives from New York State Forest Rangers joined the 38th annual Conservation Field Day to show students what it’s like to be a forest ranger and educate them on a variety of topics, including fire safety. Students learned how to properly extinguish a fire by participating in a hands-on activity.
