Swinerton Initiates Construction of Market on Morehead Restaurant in Charlotte

North Carolina Construction News Swinerton Builders has commenced development of Market on Morehead, a new 10,000-square-foot dining establishment situated in Charlotte’s South End district. Located at 1001 Morehead Drive within The Offices of Carson Station, the project is progressing as scheduled, aiming for a winter opening. Owned in partnership with restaurateur Josh Willoughby, Market on Morehead will accommodate up to 400 patrons. The venue will feature a 62-table dining area, a dual-sided bar with seating for 50, a 2,800-square-foot climate-controlled outdoor patio equipped with a large LED television, a fenced turf area for dogs, and indoor/outdoor performance stages. Construction plans include a sunken seating zone, requiring a 1,167-square-foot slab to be excavated three feet deep. Additionally, a new grease trap system will be installed underground beneath an adjacent tenant during off-hours. Swinerton will handle specialized finishes such as door fittings and concrete trench pouring.
