‘Swing Fore Scouting’ tournament raises funds for West Tennessee youth programs
JACKSON, Tenn. (WBBJ) - The “Swing Fore Scouting” tournament brought golfers to the newly renovated course at Jackson Golf and Country Club Monday afternoon.
Players were preparing for the “Partio Par-Tee” event this evening, which includes a buffet dinner and live music for players and supporters.
All of the day’s proceeds go to the West Tennessee Area Council of Scouting America, supporting youth programs across the region.
Recruitment underway for scouts
“We are recruiting right now for boy scouts and cub scouts. So, if anybody’s interested in joining a troop or a pack, they can reach out to our scout office on Hollywood Drive, and we will get you signed up into the troop or pack that is in your community,” said Madaline Hudson, EVP fund development with WTAC for Scouting America.
Organizers say those who did not play in the tournament can still support local scouting through donations or future events with the West Tennessee Area Council.
