Sydney Rally Supports Journalist Mary Kostakidis's Right to Criticize Israel

Australian journalist Mary Kostakidis, known for her social media criticism of Israel, faced legal challenges and garnered support at a rally held in Sydney. The event aimed to stand in defense of her right to express her views, amid allegations by Alon Cassuto, CEO of the Zionist Federation of Australia, that she violated Section 18C of the Racial Discrimination Act. Prominent speakers included journalist Antoinette Lattouf, who successfully challenged wrongful dismissal by the ABC under pressure from pro-Israel groups; author Antony Lowenstein; journalist Chris Hedges; Consortium News Editor Joe Lauria; Professor Peter Slezak from the University of New South Wales; Michelle Berkon of Jews Against the Occupation; Robbie Barwick of the Citizens Party of Australia; lawyer and journalist Mark Davis; and Mary Kostakidis herself.
