Stephanie Nur recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly about her shocking return to Lioness in the Season 3 finale. The actress reprised her role as Aaliyah Amrohi, appearing in the final scene after being absent since Season 1. Nur revealed she initially thought creator Taylor Sheridan was calling her about a different project.
“I just assumed that he was calling me about a different show, because it had been three years,” Nur told EW. “And then when he called me about coming back, I was floored. I screamed, and I had to apologize on the phone.” She added that she consumes the show as a spectator and could not believe the news.
In the finale, Aaliyah resurfaces in a Qatar mansion and orders another attempt to capture Joe (Zoe Saldaña). Her line “third time’s the charm” closes out the third season. Nur explained she approached the character differently this time around.
