Taylor Swift has another surprise up her sleeve.
The pop superstar announced Tuesday, Sept. 22, that her new single, "Patient Zero," will arrive Friday, Sept. 25, following a wave of online clues and a countdown on her official website.
But less than a day later, Swift revealed that the new song is part of something bigger.
On Wednesday, Sept. 23, she announced The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, an expanded edition of her 2025 album featuring four new songs: "Patient Zero," "Cleveland!," "Pink Clouding" and "Babylon." The project will also be released Sept. 25.

Before officially announcing the single, Swift sent fans searching for clues through changes to her website and social-media accounts.
A countdown eventually led to the reveal of "Patient Zero," with Swift announcing that the song would arrive Sept. 25.
Her official store subsequently offered three collectible CD editions of the track: the standard recording, an acoustic version and a piano version. Each edition was listed with different double-sided cover artwork.
