October 24, 2026 marked exactly 20 years since the release of Taylor Swift's self-titled debut album.
It may have been hard to believe at the time that the then-16 year old singer-songwriter spinning Nashville-bred tunes about young love and heartbreak would go on to become one of the most influential figures in pop culture history.
But that's not to say that Taylor Swift the album was any less of a success, spending over three years on the Billboard 200 chart upon release, the longest charting album from the 2000s, and has since been certified 8x Platinum in the US alone.
It also spawned five singles that were massive successes on country radio, later becoming mainstream hits as well, those being "Tim McGraw," "Teardrops on My Guitar," "Our Song," "Picture to Burn," and "Should've Said No."
