REYNOLDSBURG — Teays Valley let a late lead slip away Friday night before Reynoldsburg rallied to win 34-28 in overtime.
The Raiders opened the scoring with a 40-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter, but the Vikings answered in the second.
Landon Helser scored on a 1-yard run with 10 minutes remaining in the half, and Houser’s extra point tied the game at 7. Helser then connected with Carsen Cordes on a 60-yard touchdown pass with 7:20 left in the half. Houser’s extra point gave the Vikings a 14-7 lead at halftime.
Reynoldsburg cut into the deficit early in the third quarter with a 45-yard touchdown pass, but the extra point was no good.
Teays Valley responded when Evan Maynard scored on a 15-yard touchdown run with 7:30 remaining in the quarter. Houser’s extra point extended the Vikings’ lead to 21-13.
Reynoldsburg tied the game with an 10-yard touchdown pass and a successful two-point conversion with 11 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.
The Raiders then took the lead on a 52-yard interception return for a touchdown.
