Technip Secures Major EPC Contract for Louisiana LNG Export Terminal
Technip Energies has secured the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contract for the Commonwealth LNG export facility in Cameron Parish, Louisiana, as announced on August 4. The project involves a 9.5 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) LNG export terminal, featuring Technip's innovative modular design approach aimed at reducing costs and speeding up construction across six identical liquefaction trains. Ben Dell, managing partner of Kimmeridge and chairman of Commonwealth LNG, expressed enthusiasm about ongoing collaboration with Technip Energies, emphasizing the project's significance within their comprehensive LNG development strategy. This contract follows Technip's prior completion of Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) for the project. Commonwealth LNG anticipates making a final investment decision by late 2025, with plans to commence LNG production by 2029.
