Terranigma, a newly-enhanced port of the original Super Famicom title of the same name, will release January 14, 2027 on Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam and GoG. Published by Clear River Games, Terranigma will have a standard edition ($38 USD) and a steelbook edition (USD 61.00) featuring artwork by Kamui Fujiwara.
In a new trailer, we also learn that players have the option of switching between two difficult modes: Original and Arranged Mode. Original Mode is balanced just as the original game was, including the original’s save system. Arranged Mode allows for “enhanced progression” and features quick save and rewind options as well as a mini-map. A “modern” balance has also been developed for bosses that were infamously difficult to beat, such as Bloody Mary. Magic damage with magirocks have also been boosted in this mode.
Both modes will sport a status window that is viewable in the margins surrounding gameplay, new controls, and the option to toggle the aspect ration from a 4:3 to 16:9 appearance.
