Texas State Representative Brian Harrison appeared on CNN to defend Republican redistricting initiatives. Instead, he faced a live fact-check that visibly unsettled him.
During the Monday night segment of The Source with Kaitlan Collins, Harrison claimed that mainstream media outlets, including CNN, have overlooked Democratic gerrymandering while criticizing Republican efforts.
"I don’t know of any major media, CNN included, that has questioned Governor Pritzker or scrutinized gerrymandering in Illinois," Harrison asserted. "Similarly, in California, Republicans hold 40% of the vote but receive only 17% of the congressional seats. The same pattern exists in New York."
Collins challenged his statement immediately.
"You mentioned this earlier, so I looked into it," she responded. "We have covered this extensively, and CNN has aired segments on Democratic-led gerrymandering in Illinois, Oregon, and Maryland."
