The Little Theatre of Owatonna is preparing for its run of “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” in October.
The play is based on a novel about a 15-year-old boy on the spectrum who has been accused of killing his neighbor’s dog Wellington. The narrative follows Christopher Boone’s growth and exploration of self as he embarks on a Sherlock Holmes-esque investigation to clear his name.
Ethan Becker, of Owatonna, is set to make his directorial debut having been involved with the Little Theatre of Owatonna since 2023 and previously apprenticed under Zackery Knapton during the theatre’s production of “The Lost Boy” in February. Becker says that this play stood out to him because he identifies with Christopher’s point of view.
“This show is very special to me as somebody who has autism. In the book and in the play it's never actually specified.
