One of its original stars, Oscar-nominated actor Josh Brolin, who was just 17 at the time of filming, has voiced his hesitations regarding a possible sequel. During the premiere of his upcoming horror film, Weapons, Brolin shared with Entertainment Tonight his thoughts on a Goonies revival: "I hope it happens because the experience was incredible," he stated, highlighting the film's enduring popularity across generations. Yet, he also expressed concern: "My worry is that creating a new installment might tarnish the original's legacy. I want to preserve the memory of what it was."
