The Paradise censor: Producer pleads, board agrees
Nani’s “The Paradise” has completed its censor formalities, a week ahead of its theatrical release. However, the film is yet to receive its official censor certificate as the team has been asked to make several cuts and submit replacement shots.
According to reports, the censor board suggested more cuts than usual, mainly due to the film’s excessive violence and bloodshed. Producer Sudhakar Cherukuri reportedly pleaded with the board, stating that implementing all the suggested cuts could affect the film’s narrative and impact.
The producer requested permission to tone down the violence and replace certain shots instead of removing them completely. The censor board members eventually agreed to the proposal and asked the team to submit the necessary replacement shots and toned-down versions of the scenes and dialogues.
The official censor certificate is expected to be issued in a day or two, once the revised material is submitted and approved.
