Hero Day: Sept. 27, 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Newark Charter High School, 200 McIntire Drive. The event marking Childhood Cancer Awareness Month will offer attendees a chance to donate blood, sign up for a bone marrow registry, and donate hair to cancer patients. There will also be inflatables, face painting, superhero appearances and visits from first responders. Free.
Music on Main: Oct. 3, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., on Main Street. Stroll downtown as talented musicians set the soundtrack and artisans showcase unique handmade goods. Afterward, enjoy dinner at one of the many restaurants on Main Street.
Back the Bluey Day: Oct. 3, 5 to 7 p.m., at Captain Blue Hen Comics, 280 E. Main St. Bluey and Newark Police K9 Officer Luto and his partner will be onsite for photo opportunities. Event raises money for another K9 officer for the Newark Police Department.
