Construction projects are ongoing throughout Oklahoma City with big enough impacts that they close sidewalks, streets, and in some cases, entire stretches of the roadway.
In all, 13 current projects are permitted to close streets inside Oklahoma City, with most on the north side of town. Several of the projects are permitted to continue to the end of the year, but two have end dates listed in 2027 and 2028.
Dozens more projects are only impacting specific lanes of traffic instead of the entire roadway. Those projects include major construction along Northwest 23rd Street and the bridge reconstruction at May Avenue and Northwest Expressway.
