Fontana, Thomas Jeffrey, passed away on Sept. 12, 2026, at the age of 71 in Canon City, Colorado. He was the youngest of six children of James and Marjorie Fontana. He is survived by his three brothers, James (Carol), John Richard and Michael (Maryland), and preceded in death by his two sisters, Marjorie (Ken) Cates and Patricia (Michael) Lueken.
Tom attended St. Peter Catholic School. After one year at Vianney High School, he transferred to Kirkwood High School. He was active in sports into adulthood but it was at Kirkwood High School where he excelled on the soccer field. He was active as a coach for Special Olympics.
Tom spent the last ten years living in Canon City, a stone’s throw from his brother Jim and Carol. He was a favorite uncle to his nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Tom was outgoing and a friend to many, especially those who needed a friend.
