Northeastern Junior College is welcoming three new faces to staff this year.
Lorraine Speicher
Lorraine Speicher is a new nursing faculty member. She currently lives in Fort Morgan and is married with four children, three out on their own and one in college. Her career as a nurse has included teaching basic life support and trauma.
“I truly love helping people reach their potential and find their ‘ah ha’ moment,” she said when asked why she went into education.
Speicher decided to come teach at NJC because she graduated from there, obtaining EMT B, LPN, and ADN all at separate times.
Kellum Carnahan
Another new face is Kellum Carnahan, animal science instructor and livestock judging coach. According to his bio on the Northeastern Junior College Livestock Judging Team Facebook page, he grew up splitting time between his family’s commercial cattle operations in Northeastern Colorado and Western Wyoming. His childhood shaped his love for the livestock industry and reinforced his work ethic.
Kellum joined Colorado 4-H judging in high school and never looked back. He continued his judging career at NJC, finding success on the 2023-24 team and earned his asso...
