Hopkinsville Community College will host three community events in September, ranging from a Constitution Day presentation to a celebration of Dolly Parton and an annual car cruise-in.
The first event, HCC’s annual Constitution Day program, is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 17, in the Anderson Room of the college’s Emerging Technologies Building.
Marvin Denison, upper school head and operations director at University Heights Academy, will present “Federalism in the Modern American Election,” focusing on the division of power among federal, state and local governments and its role in current political discourse and elections.
Doors will open at 11:30 a.m., with the presentation beginning at noon. The program is free and open to the public, and light refreshments will be served.
HCC will continue its September programming on Thursday, Sept. 22, with “Live Like Dolly: A Tribute to the Life of Dolly Parton.”
Beginning at noon in the Thomas L. Riley Lecture Hall in the college’s Auditorium Building, the event will celebrate Parton’s music, career and philanthropy through live music and a presentation from the Pennyroyal Arts Council.
