Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest

On October 4, 2026, at approximately 9:26 p.m., officers with the Toccoa Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Avon Street.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Michael Landon Ferguson, 60, of Toccoa, Georgia. Ferguson had outstanding warrants for Aggravated Stalking that had been taken out by the Toccoa Police Department.
While speaking with Ferguson during the traffic stop, officers observed a grinder and suspected illegal drugs in plain view inside the vehicle. Based on those observations, officers conducted a search of the vehicle.
Ferguson was arrested without incident and transported to the Stephens County Jail.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be pending based on the evidence recovered during the traffic stop.
