When asked about the potential message Steve Witkoff might convey to Russian officials, Trump stated, "We need a deal where hostilities cease to save lives." When further questioned about possible actions if Russia refuses to agree to a ceasefire by Friday, Trump remarked, "Sanctions will be imposed, but Russia has proven adept at evading them. They're quite resourceful in that regard. We'll see how it unfolds." Additionally, Trump highlighted Witkoff's humanitarian efforts, particularly concerning Gaza, noting, "Steve is currently focused on humanitarian issues, including aid and feeding people in Gaza. He might be traveling to Russia next Wednesday or Thursday."
