Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was recently named to President Donald Trump’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition. However, he appeared unfamiliar with the details of his appointment.
Tagovailoa's Reaction to the Appointment
On Wednesday, Tagovailoa described it as an "honor" to join the council, which was officially announced by Trump on July 31. Nonetheless, he admitted that he had little understanding of the council's purpose and was unaware of the appointment until his agent contacted him.
"I was like, 'What is this?' Tagovailoa stated, as reported by Skyler Shepard of CBS 12. "I didn’t even know what it was until my agent called me."
