Tucson Unified School District students will sprawl across the University of Arizona on Friday for TUSD Takeover Day.
More than 1,800 students will head to campus for a half day Nov. 6 to eat lunch with student-athletes, experience campus life and learn about applying to and attending the University of Arizona, according to a news release.
“As a TUSD graduate, this event is especially meaningful to me," said Kristina Wong Davis, U of A vice president for enrollment management and dean of admission, in the news release. "We're grateful for the partnership with TUSD to help seniors explore college pathways, discover their options after high school and experience student life at the U of A."
TUSD Takeover Day coincides with the Wildcats volleyball match against Utah at noon and the football game against TCU at 8:15 p.m.
TUSD secured a donation to cover the cost of participating high school students' football tickets and the U of A is providing 1,500 free tickets for TUSD middle school students. TUSD families and employees will also have access to $10 tickets for the game.
