Madison County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to 48 News that two people were killed in the explosion.
Home destroyed on Elkwood Section Rd in Hazel Green (WAFF) Don Webster with HEMSI confirmed the explosion and said multiple emergency responders are on scene.
The call came in at around 4:45 a.m. Friday morning.
A nearby neighbor, Kerri Cutts, sent a video to 48 where you can hear a loud boom towards the end.
Another neighbor told our crew they heard a loud boom that shook their home and knocked off stuff from their walls.
Details on the incident have not been revealed. Madison County Sheriff’s Office detectives and Crime Scene Investigators are on scene, along with the State Fire Marshal. The cause of the explosion is currently being investigated.
The identity of the victims has not been released at this time.
