Two people are dead and one other was injured following a series of shooting reports Friday night, Sept. 25, in New Town that prompted an overnight shelter-in-place order and a large law enforcement response.
Information provided Saturday by a law enforcement source indicates two people were killed and one was injured, with the injured victim reportedly undergoing surgery at approximately 1 a.m.

The source also indicated that, based on overnight law enforcement radio traffic, approximately five people had been taken into custody. However, the source cautioned that it was not yet clear what involvement, if any, each of those individuals may have had in the shootings or other incidents reported during the night.
Authorities have not yet issued a detailed public statement identifying the victims, describing the circumstances surrounding the deaths and injuries, or specifying what charges, if any, have been filed against anyone detained.
