BOONE COUNTY, Iowa -- Authorities say two people were injured Saturday following a head-on collision in Boone County.
The Iowa State Patrol says the collision occurred between a Ford and a Jeep around 11:30 p.m. Saturday along Highway 17, at the Hamilton and Boone County lines.

Officials say the Ford was traveling along the highway when it crossed the centerline and struck the Jeep head-on. The Ford came to rest in the west ditch on its top, and the Jeep came to rest on its driver's side in the east ditch, according to the ISP report.
Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement The driver of the Ford, 32-year-old Paulo Mendoza Ponce of Webster City, was transported by Boone EMS to the Boone County Hospital for injuries.
The driver of the Jeep, a 17-year-old from Stratford, was taken to the Boone County Hospital for injuries by Stratford EMS.
The Iowa State Patrol says an investigation into this incident remains open.
