2 hours ago Uncharted will open its first Capital Region location on Oct. 17 at Northway Shopping Center. (Will Waldron/Times Union) COLONIE — A popular boutique featuring big-name brands, like Free People and UGG, is making its Capital Region debut next month.
Uncharted, a retail chain from the company behind The Paper Store, will open in Northway Shopping Center in Colonie on Oct. 17, with a grand opening celebration planned for Nov. 14.
Meg Anderson Lavoie is the chief merchandising officer at TPS Group Holdings, parent company of Uncharted and The Paper Store. Her father, Bob Anderson, founded The Paper Store in Maynard, Mass., in 1964. She said the company prides itself on connecting with people in surrounding communities.
“We want to hear your stories; that very much is something that came from our founder, Bob Anderson,” Lavoie said. “He loves people. He loves to listen to people’s stories, and I feel like we’ve very much organically grown and hired those people based on a lot of the values. Of course, we hope that continues to happen as we go into the new areas.”
The store carries well-known brands including Free People, UGG, Jellycat and Kendra Scott. (Will...
