LINCOLN, Neb. — At the end of the third quarter, Nebraska shut off the lights at Memorial Stadium, with pyrotechnics and cell phone lights from the more than 86,000 in attendance lighting up the night.
This wasn't the FCS, and UND's offense could tell that more than anyone.

The Fighting Hawks, averaging more than 50 points per game after three weeks, were held to 205 yards of total offense as Nebraska beat UND 34-7 on Saturday to close the non-conference portion of the schedule.
"Big boy football," said UND coach Eric Schmidt, whose team took Kansas State down to the wire in his previous FBS opportunity in 2025. "The team that could run the football and the team that couldn't won and lost tonight. Give Nebraska a lot of credit. Just think they're a much-improved team than what I saw a year ago."
UND quarterback Jerry Kaminski was under duress throughout. Kaminski, who came into the game completing 77 percent of his passes in comfortable wins against Long Island, St. Thomas and Portland State, was 9-for-18 for 106 yards. He was sacked five times. His only touchdown was a 7-yard slant pass on fourth-and-1 in the third quarter to Caleb Goodloe.
