HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - Officials tested the UH-72 Bravo, an aircraft designed to fly without a crew on board. Two pilots sat in the cockpit during the test flight to comply with FAA regulations.
Officials say unmanned aircraft could reduce pilot training costs while helping deliver supplies and equipment to troops in combat.
“Everything runs off of logistics,” one official said, noting that plasma, ammunition, food and water are essential to keeping troops effective.
The aircraft could help bridge the “last tactical mile” and save lives.
