Utah hung a zero on the scoreboard Saturday afternoon, beating Utah State 33-0 to move to 3-0 heading into Big 12 play. But the number that mattered most to the people inside Rice-Eccles Stadium had nothing to do with the final score.
Aggies linebacker Harrison Taggart was carted off after an injury that stopped the game cold and drained the energy out of a packed house. Utah head coach Morgan Scalley opened his postgame press conference by addressing it. “First and foremost, really, prayers go out to Harrison Taggart,” Scalley said. “From talking to Coach Mendenhall and getting some updates, it sounds like he’s got feeling back in his legs. Harrison’s a kid that we recruited at Utah. I know his mom, and I went to school together, so really praying for him. That’s not something that you want to see ever.”
