LAKE MILLS — Senior libero Molly Muchka surpassed 1,000 career digs in the Lakeside Lutheran volleyball team's 25-19, 25-18, 25-15 home victory over rival Lake Mills on Tuesday in Capitol North play.
Muchka led all players with 16 digs, hitting the 1,000 mark during the second set.
"Molly has been on varsity for four years, and has grown tremendously as both a player and a leader," Lakeside Lutheran volleyball coach Jenny Krauklis said. "She works hard, keeps a positive attitude, and makes those around her better. She has been our team captain for the last three years."
All three sets were close early before the conference-leading Warriors (16-6, 6-0 Capitol North) pulled away.
"We knew Lake Mills had improved since the first time we played them, and the girls were ready for a tough match," Krauklis said. "Lake Mills did much better in serve receive this time, so our girls really had to work hard defensively to keep balls alive, which they did an awesome job of."
