Sue Zmyslony
What is your background/qualifications?
I am a retired special education teacher with 40 years of experience, including 32 in the Cloquet School District. I served on the Barnum School Board and United Way and as president of the Carlton County Historical Society. I remain active with the Carlton Area Lions Club, Hanging Horn Area Lakeshore Management Board, and two Association of Minnesota Counties groups:
District 1 and the Education & Research Council.
Elected to the Carlton County Board in 2015 and again in 2022, I take my duties seriously and work with fellow commissioners to put county business and residents first.
Why are you running?
I want to continue serving and protecting District 4 and what residents have built. I stay accessible, attend community events, and listen to residents. Working together, we can strengthen families and essential public services.
I promise to listen, lead purposefully, and serve Carlton County with integrity.
What do you see as the two biggest challenges to the county and how do you plan to improve them?
