Wang Xing Yue and Zhang Ruo Nan Cast in Big Budget Tencent Period C-drama Spring Banquet

So it’s a congrats to Zhang Ruo Nan and Wang Xing Yue to land a big budget period C-drama in this fallow year of C-drama productions. The two have been cast in Tencent produced big budget, probably S- level, C-drama Spring Banquet (春日宴 Chun Ri Yan). It’s a politics and romance story between a framed royal princess who gets a new identity and her intended nemesis the royal advisor who of course is not the antagonist she thinks he is. I find both good actors but not quite sure if they will produce chemistry with each other, that is up in the air for me since their acting styles are very different. The drama is set to commence production right after the Chinese golden week holiday so middle of October 2026.
