WASHINGTON — The Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife brought back the trout derby with tagged fish in 100 lakes across the state.
People who catch a trout with a green tag could win a derby prize. To claim it, they need to keep the tag, fill out the form and go to the location listed for pickup.
The department said more than 900 prizes were donated by more than 60 businesses. It said those prizes were worth more than $43,000.
The derby was free to enter, but anglers needed a valid fishing license.
The event will run through the last day of October.
