After making the Super Bowl in three consecutive seasons, the Kansas City Chiefs had a disappointing season in 2025, missing the postseason entirely while Patrick Mahomes suffered a torn ACL late in the season. So far, the team has bounced back in 2026, with two wins to open the season. But Mahomes is not content.
During a press conference this week, Mahomes made it clear that he wants the team to continue playing as if it has someething to prove this season as he brought up a few areas where he thinks that the team still needs to improve despite the 2-0 start.
‘How can you keep that hunger?’
During his press conferene on Wednesday, Mahomes stressed the improtance of keeping the “hunger” that drove the team over the offseason after the disappointing 2026 season.
Mahomes issued a pretty clear warning to his Chiefs teammates as he said the team cannot start to feel too good about itself early in the season just because it won two games.
