In a swift transformation, Alamo Drafthouse has revitalized the cinema at Westfield Valley Fair, creating an immersive environment inspired by giant monsters and superhero lore. The renovation followed the abrupt closure of the previous theater operator, ShowPlace Icon, last July. "Our team began preparations early last summer as soon as the space became available," explained John Smith, the marketing director for Alamo's West Coast operations. "We coordinated with Valley Fair, the city, and all stakeholders to ensure the theater was ready to open by summer, aligning with the release of exciting new movies." Although some finishing touches remain, the theater is now operational and has hosted a preview screening of the latest Superman film on July 9, marking its grand opening.
