Eric Morris took to the stand this afternoon for his weekly press conference, which included talking about the Mountaineers ahead of his team's road game in Morgantown. Here's everything he said about WVU today.
Opening thoughts on WVU: "True test this week on the road. They're as well coached as anybody we've faced this year. I have a ton of respect for Rich Rod. His teams always seem to give people fits, he's super creative. They're a little bit different, they really wanna run the quarterback. Hawkins is really dynamic back there with his feet. And then they've been super explosive in the pass game…Once you bring those safeties down into fits, it opens up some seams. The running back is also a really good player."
On Zac Alley's scheme: "They're going to force a ton of issues. They love to wreak havoc and they'll come from everywhere. We're going to have to do a nice job of identifying fronts in a hostile environment."
On how to slow down Hawkins: "Get him on the ground. Tackle him. That's easier said than done. He's [Rich Rod] done it everywhere he's been. He's had success at so many different spots, now he's going back home. That's a cool story. That's something we haven't fac...
