(LifeSiteNews) — A U.K. Home Office whistleblower has claimed that as few as 1 percent of the asylum claims he assessed were genuine, alleging that Britain’s asylum system is plagued by “massive fraud” and widespread dysfunction.
On September 7, an anonymous British official, identified only as “J” to protect his identity, revealed his experience to The Times, claiming that fraudulent or highly questionable applications appeared throughout the asylum process and that applicants sometimes submitted remarkably similar asylum seeking accounts.
“At best 1 percent of asylum seekers are genuine,” J told The Times. “There’s almost no aspect of the asylum system that isn’t either a massive fraud or just really dysfunctional. Nothing works as it should.”

Among the examples he described were what he called “package claims,” in which numerous applicants presented substantially similar stories.
