Will County District 92 Records 47 Student Suspensions in 2023-24 Academic Year

Kirsten Frankovich, Superintendent of Will County School District 92, provided insights into disciplinary actions taken during the recent school year. A total of 47 suspensions were documented, equating to roughly 3.3 incidents per 100 students enrolled. Analyzing the reasons behind in-school suspensions with specified causes, the predominant issue was incidents involving violence without physical harm, accounting for two cases. There were also two incidents involving weapons other than firearms and cases of violence resulting in injuries. A significant portion, 36 cases, fell under unspecified or other reasons. Disciplinary data showed 27 incidents involving male students and 20 involving females. All suspensions affected elementary and middle school students. Out-of-school suspensions mainly stemmed from violence without injury and incidents involving weapons other than firearms, each with two cases. An additional five cases were categorized as other reasons.
