Winifred ‘Wendy’ (Jones) Flannery OBITUARY
Winifred “Wendy” (Jones) Flannery, 74, of Scranton, entered into eternal rest peacefully on September 10, 2026.
A lifelong resident of Scranton, Wendy was born on October 26, 1951. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was the daughter of the late William “Deacon” and Marie Healey Jones.
She was a member of St. Ann’s Basilica Church in West Scranton and a 1969 graduate of St. Patrick’s High School.
She was the devoted wife of Thomas Flannery, with whom she would have shared 49 years of marriage on September 30th.
She was employed by Advantage Sales and Marketing, Inc. for many years and, prior to her retirement, was employed by Pennsylvania Paper and Supply Company.
In addition to being a dedicated mother who always put her family, including her grandchildren, first, Wendy enjoyed many things in life. She loved reading, crocheting blankets, cooking, dancing, and entertaining, especially during the holidays. She found great joy in bringing her family together and creating special memories that will be cherished for years to come.
